Angela Maria Piga è nata a Roma, dove vive. E’ artista autodidatta e poeta. Ha anche nazionalità svizzera. Si è laureata in Letteratura Francese all’Università La Sapienza di Roma nel 1997 con la tesi “Voltaire e la teoria del teatro”. Dal 1990 al 2005 ha lavorato in una galleria d’arte a Roma specializzata in arte contemporanea dell’est europeo. Fra le mostre a cui ha collaborato: Tadeusz Kantor, Miklos Erdély, Henryk Stazewski, Jaroslaw Kozakiewicz, Getulio Alviani, Janos Sugar. Dal 2006 al 2009 è stata autrice e conduttrice di programmi radiofonici culturali in Inglese per Rai International, fino alla chiusura del canale. Dal 2008 al 2016 ha collaborato con testate nazionali e internazionali (Casa Vogue, Vogue Uomo, Il Messaggero, Il Secolo XIX, Lo Specchio, Interni, Cahiers du Cinéma). Nel 2017, mentre viveva a Düsseldorf, incontra l’argilla e comincia a realizzare sculture che espone insieme a lavori basati sul linguaggio. Pubblicazioni: il romanzo “La sindrome di Salomone” (Oèdipus ed., 2003); la raccolta di sue poesie “Easy Writer” (L’Erudita, Giulio Perrone ed., 2022).

Angela Maria Piga was born in Rome, where she lives. She is a self-taught artist and poet. She also has Swiss nationality. In 1997 she got a degree in French Literature at La Sapienza University in Rome with the thesis “Voltaire and the Theater’s Theory”. From 1990 to 2005 she worked in an galerist in Rome. Among the shows she collaborated to: Tadeusz Kantor, Miklos Erdély, Henryk Stazewski, Jaroslaw Kozakiewicz, Getulio Alviani, Janos Sugar. From 2006 to 2009 she has been authour and host of cultural radio programs in English for the public Italian network Rai International, until the channel closed. From 2008 to 2016 she contributed to national and international press (Casa Vogue, Vogue Uomo, Il Messaggero, Il Secolo XIX, Lo Specchio, Interni, Cahiers du Cinéma). In 2017, while living in Düsseldorf, she has her first encounter with clay. She then started to realize sculptures and works based on language. Publications: the novel “La sindrome di Salomone” (Oèdipus ed., 2003); and a collection of her poems “Easy Writer” (L’Erudita, Giulio Perrone ed., 2022).
