Angela Maria Piga (Roma, 1968) è artista autodidatta di nazionalità italiana e svizzera. Vive a Roma. Si è laureata in Letteratura Francese a La Sapienza di Roma, con la tesi “Voltaire e la teoria del teatro”. Ha studiato sceneggiatura con Ugo Pirro e Jay McKirney e teatro con Emanuele Faina e Julio Solinas. Durante gli studi, lavora nella galleria d’arte di famiglia specializzata in artisti contemporanei dell’est europeo, in particolare della Polonia e Ungheria, Spicchi dell’Est e Café Europe Centro di Arte Contemporanea. Dal 2006 al 2009 è stata autrice e conduttrice di programmi radio in Inglese per Rai International, fino alla chiusura del canale. Dal 2009 al 2016 ha scritto per stampa italiana e straniera (fra cui Casa Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue, Lo Specchio de La Stampa, Art Passions, Cahiers du Cinéma, Il Secolo XIX, Gente di Fotografia). Nel 2003 è stato pubblicato il suo romanzo “La sindrome di Salomone” (Oèdipus ed.), nel 2022 il libro “Easy Writer” con la raccolta delle sue poesie (collana L’Erudita, Giulio Perrone ed.). E’ diventata artista nel 2017, mentre viveva a Düsseldorf. Vive a Roma, dove condivide uno studio con cinque artisti nel quartiere Pigneto.

Angela Maria Piga (Rome, 1968) is a self-taught artist with Italian and Swiss citizenship. She got a master in French Literature at La Sapienza University in Rome with the thesis “Voltaire and the Theater’s Theory”. She studied script writing with Ugo Pirro and Jay McKirney and drama with Emanuele Faina and Julio Solinas. While and after studying, she worked for 15 years in the family run art gallery in Rome, focused on Eastern European contemporary art, especially Poland and Hungary, the Spicchi dell’Est Gallery and Café Europe Centro di Arte Contemporanea. From 2006 to 2009, until the channel’s closure, she has been author and host of radio broadcasts for the public network Rai International. Since 2009 she has contributed to Italian and foreign press (among which Lo Specchio of La Stampa, Casa Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue, Cahiers du Cinéma, Art Passions, Il Secolo XIX). In 2003 her novel “La sindrome di Salomone” was published by Oèdipus ed. and in 2022 her poems have been published in the book “Easy Writer” by Giulio Perrone ed. (L’Erudita). She became an artist in 2017, while living in Düsseldorf. She is based in Rome where she shares a studio with five artists in the Pigneto district.
